Napkin is an exhibition that will enable and encourage the public to own unique & innovative new artworks from collectable artists, illustrators, typographers and designers in the UK. More importantly, it is an initiative that will raise significant funds for charities aiming to ease food crises and poverty in struggling countries. A group of specially selected visual artists have been sent a white paper napkin and were invited to draw on it and discover its opportunities. These could take the form of illustrations, plans for future projects, sketches of past inspirations or merely scribbles - the medium of ink on paper napkin providing unstructured foundations on which to play. Napkin is a showcase of these new creations and we are intrigued to discover what today’s most influential artists and designers will produce, and how these pieces may represent our contemporary visual culture.
